Tooth-Colored Fillings

A composite (tooth-colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, or fractures.  The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling.  Older metal fillings contain mercury, a highly toxic substance, therefore the potential side effects of mercury should be eliminated by replacing existing metal fillings with tooth-colored fillings.

In these photos, the fillings for the back two teeth were replaced with fillings matching the teeth.
